Role Overview
We are seeking a Residential Construction Project Manager who will own the delivery of multiple ADU projects from contract signing through final walkthrough. This role blends customer advocacy , cost management , scheduling discipline , and operations excellence .
You will be responsible for communicating with homeowners, managing subcontractors, coordinating inspections, controlling budgets, and using project management tools to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and with delighted customers .
What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities)
1. Customer Advocacy & Communication
- Serve as the primary point of contact for homeowners throughout the entire project lifecycle.
- Provide transparent, proactive communication and weekly updates using structured tools (ClickUp / Asana dashboards, templates, videos, etc.).
- Manage expectations and guide clients through design, permitting, construction phases.
- Resolve issues quickly while maintaining trust, clarity, and professionalism.
2. Schedule, Execution & Delivery
Build and maintain detailed project schedules (Gantt charts, look-ahead plans, critical path tracking).Coordinate inspections, subcontractors, deliveries, utilities, and municipal requirements.Drive weekly jobsite progress : ensuring crews stay on sequence, quality standards are met, and milestones are hit.Identify risks early and escalate when timelines may be impacted.3. Cost Control & Value Engineering
Maintain strict control over budgets, change orders, allowances, and purchase orders.Identify opportunities for value engineering without compromising quality.Compare vendor quotes and negotiate to secure cost-effective solutions.Implement strategies to keep job costs rock-bottom while still delivering premium service .4. Technology & Systems Management
Use project management platforms such as ClickUp, Asana, Monday.com, Buildertrend, or similar , and help improve how we use them.Configure and manage workflows, automations, task lists, forms, CRM integrations, and dashboards.Track KPIs : schedule variance, budget variance, client satisfaction, cycle times.Collaborate on company-wide SOP development for scalability.5. Documentation & Quality Control
Manage permits, RFIs, CO / CSCs, change orders, municipal paperwork, and inspection logs.Ensure accurate project documentation for compliance and close-out.Perform site visits to ensure craftsmanship, specifications, and compliance meet CTH standards.What Makes You a Great Fit (Skills & Qualifications)
Must-Have Qualifications
4+ years of experience managing residential construction projects (remodels, new homes, additions, ADUs, modular homes, or high-volume home services).Deep understanding of construction sequencing , residential systems (MEPs), permitting processes, subs management, and customer communication.Highly proficient with project management tools (ClickUp, Asana, Monday.com, Buildertrend, etc.).Knowledge of Gantt charts , dependencies, critical path, and PM fundamentals.Strong ability to manage budgets, cost controls, and vendor negotiations.Exceptionally clear written & verbal communication.Driven, organized, self-motivated — loves building processes and improving systems.Comfortable managing 4–6 concurrent projects at various stages.Big Pluses (Not Required but Highly Preferred)
Degree in Construction Management, Project Management, Engineering , or similar discipline.Experience in consulting , franchised home services , national home improvement brands , or high-volume build environments where customer service and scalability are core.Experience with ADUs, modular / offsite construction, or prefab processes.Experience optimizing PM software, CRMs (HubSpot, Salesforce), or automation workflows.Familiarity with Connecticut building codes and municipal review processes.Soft Skills That Matter
