Job description

Job summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Data Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing product catalogs and developing data-driven pricing strategies to maximize revenue and profitability. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, sales, and purchasing, to ensure data accuracy and improve business performance.

Key responsibilities

Catalog management

  • Collect, clean, and manage large product datasets from various sources, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
  • Develop and maintain product catalog across internal systems and e-commerce platforms.
  • Work with product and sales teams to ensure product listings are complete, searchable, and optimized for customer experience.
  • Perform routine audits to identify and resolve data discrepancies, such as duplicate entries or missing information.
  • Assist with development of sales support publications such as buyers guides and sales promotional flyers.

Pricing analysis

  • Analyze market trends, competitor pricing, and historical sales data to develop strategic pricing recommendations.
  • Evaluate the impact of pricing decisions on sales volume, profit margins, and overall profitability.
  • Provide regular and ad-hoc pricing analysis to support promotional campaigns and markdown strategies.
  • Maintain and update pricing databases, tools, and systems to ensure pricing accuracy across all channels.
  • Reporting and insights

  • Create and maintain reports and dashboards to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for catalog performance and pricing effectiveness.
  • Prepare and present findings, insights, and recommendations to senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Use data visualization tools to clearly communicate complex information.
  • Partner with other departments to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Data Analyst, Pricing Analyst, or Catalog Analyst.
  • Advanced / Expert level of skill in using MS Excel to manipulate data.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., SQL, Python, Tableau, Power BI).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex data to non-technical audiences.
  • Experience with e-commerce platforms and catalog management systems is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Location

  • Ideally this role will be working in our Durham, NC office or Camden SC plant, however it may be open to remote work for highly qualified candidates.
