Job Description

Job Title : Physical Therapist

Job Specialty : Inpatient Rehab Unit - Physical Therapy

Job Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : 8-hour days, every other weekend, rotational holidays

Guaranteed Hours : 40 hours per week

Experience : Minimum of 2 years required, with at least 1 year in either MedSurg or rehab. Previous travel experience is preferred.

License : License submission required

Certifications : BLS required, Certified Rehab Nurse preferred; COVID Vaccine required

Must-Have :

  • Comfort with total patient care, patient transfers, and ADLs
  • Ability to work without lifts and assist patients with home care needs
  • Skillful in recognizing patient deficits and modifying care plans accordingly
  • Ability to work closely with PT, OT, SLP specialty teams

Job Description :

  • Provide comprehensive care for patients in an inpatient rehab unit
  • Work with a patient ratio of 1 : 4, focusing on conditions like post-stroke, SCI, brain injury, amputations, general debility, new tracheostomy, post-COVID, etc.
  • Participate in weekly interdisciplinary rounds
  • Engage in rehab nursing and education to help patients and families adapt to changes in ability
  • Utilize EPIC for charting
  • Work independently with a charge nurse available every shift
  • Perform transfer training and demonstrate competency with PT staff
  • Foster a nurse-driven care environment without the aid of nurse aides
  • Be comfortable floating to inpatient MedSurg with a 1 : 5 ratio when required
  • Adhere to a teal scrub color dress code, provided by the facility
  • Complete unit-specific orientation, typically 2-3 days depending on previous experience
