Position Summary :

Maintenance Technician

Franklin University Columbus Ohio

Pay : $23.35 / hour Full-Time Onsite MonFri 6 : 00 a.m.3 : 00 p.m. (with possible overtime & emergency call)

Franklin University is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join our Facilities team. Under general supervision this role performs intermediate-level maintenance troubleshooting and repairs across campus buildings and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

Facilities Maintenance (Carpentry Electrical Plumbing HVAC 70%)

  • Perform daily inspections preventative maintenance and repairs.
  • Install / repair fixtures doors drywall flooring lighting outlets motors plumbing fixtures valves traps thermostats filters and HVAC components.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve temperature issues power outages leaks and other building system problems.
  • Respond to emergency calls and correct safety or operational defects.

General Duties (30%)

  • Maintain compliance with applicable codes and complete required documentation.
  • Assist and mentor less-experienced technicians.
  • Communicate effectively with customers team members and supervisors.
  • Participate in training meetings and professional development.

    • Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma / GED.
  • Four years of general maintenance experience or equivalent.
  • Ability to obtain OSHA 10-hour certification within 90 days .
  • Capable of pushing / pulling 100 lbs. distinguishing colors and working on ladders.
  • Demonstrated skills in carpentry electrical plumbing and HVAC / R.

    • Preferred Qualifications

  • OSHA 10-hour Safety & Health card (or ability to obtain within 6 months).
  • 3 years in a skilled trade (Plumbing Electrical HVAC).
  • Experience reading blueprints applying safety standards troubleshooting systems and using hand / power tools.

    • Work Environment

  • May require work in hot / cold / dusty conditions or tight spaces.
  • Occasional travel to other University locations.
