Technology Support Specialist

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the secure, productive, and effective use of technology in the facility, and provide hardware and software technical support to users of personal computers and associated equipment.
• Coordinate technology services, maintenance, and training throughout the facility.
• Ensure information technology resources (computer hardware, network and operating systems software and telecommunications hardware) function properly and are maintained in good operating condition.
• Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting and repairs on personal computers and related equipment, including LAN / WAN equipment, PCs, laptops, telecom equipment, key control devices, software and peripherals.
• Analyze the need for new computer equipment; assess quality, compatibility, reliability, and suitability to the institution's needs.
• Provide configuration requirements for new computer acquisitions, recommend methods of using existing equipment to satisfy new requirements, and perform benchmark tests of proposed new equipment; ensure licensing compliance.
