Job Summary :

As a Supply Chain Materials Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating materials-related projects within our organization. You will manage the procurement, planning, and execution of materials-related initiatives to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery. Your role will involve collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and stakeholders to achieve project objectives and drive continuous improvement in materials management processes.

Key Responsibilities :

Project Planning and Execution :

  • Develop project plans outlining scope, objectives, timelines, and resources required.
  • Coordinate project activities, monitor progress, and ensure adherence to timelines and budgets.
  • Identify potential risks and proactively implement mitigation strategies.
  • Materials Procurement and Sourcing :
  • Manage sourcing activities to identify and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions.
  • Monitor supplier performance and address any issues to ensure consistent supply of materials.

Inventory and Demand Management :

  • Oversee inventory levels and optimize stock levels to meet production demands while minimizing carrying costs.
  • Collaborate with demand planning teams to forecast materials requirements and ensure availability.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration :
  • Liaise with internal departments such as production, engineering, and finance to align materials planning with overall business objectives.
  • Facilitate communication and information sharing to support effective decision-making.
  • Continuous Improvement :

  • Drive initiatives to improve materials management processes, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Implement best practices and tools for materials planning, procurement, and inventory management.
  • Required Skills and Qualifications :

    Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).

    Proven experience in materials management, procurement, or project management, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.

    Strong analytical skills and proficiency in using ERP systems and other materials management tools.

    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and with external stakeholders.

    Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results under tight deadlines.

    Problem-solving mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and achieving operational excellence.

    Preferred Qualifications :

    Certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP) or Supply Chain Management (e.g., CPSM).

    Experience with lean manufacturing principles and methodologies.

    Knowledge of international logistics and import / export regulations.
