Job description

We are seeking several volunteers who are willing to attend SVT programs and nature outings to assist the program leader and help the program run smoothly.

Responsibilities :

  • Take attendance at the start of the walk or program, making sure all registered attendees are present
  • On walks, remain at the back to ensure no participants are left behind
  • Assist with materials during programs, including passing around handouts, plant samples, and other educational items as needed
  • Take pictures of the programs and participants for SVT communications and social media
  • Serve as a helpful presence throughout the walk / program and report any concerns or questions to the program leader or SVT Events & Engagement Manager

Skills Needed :

  • Ability to walk outdoors for up to 3 hours and navigate trails
  • Comfort engaging with participants of all ages
  • Willingness to assist with light logistics, such as passing out materials

    • Logistics :

  • Training Provided : Orientation with SVT staff regarding safety and expectations
  • Hours : Approximately 2-3 hour commitment per walk or program
  • Duration : Ongoing, as needed for public walks and events
  • Location : Varies by program location
  • Reports to : Events & Engagement Manager
