As an Orthopedic Medical Assistant, you will assist our physicians and providers with a variety of patient care and administrative tasks. Your responsibilities will include rooming patients, managing appointment scheduling, and handling chart management. You will also be tasked with ensuring patients understand and can fully benefit from our services, fostering a positive image of our practice.
Responsibilities
- Perform assigned patient care responsibilities.
- Identify yourself to patients and their families, explaining the roles of the care team.
- Execute administrative duties as assigned.
- Send and receive patient medical records and accurately input new patient data into EPIC.
- Handle environmental responsibilities including setting up instruments and equipment per department protocols.
- Assist with other related organizational tasks as needed.
- Safeguard patient autonomy, confidentiality, and dignity at all times.
- Occasionally assist with chaperone duties during patient procedures.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
High School Diploma or equivalent.Completion of an accredited medical assistant certificate program is preferred. Certification / Registration (CCMA / CMA / AAMA / RMA) is advantageous.Other candidates may meet eligibility based on a combination of education and relevant experience.EXPERIENCE
A minimum of 1 year of experience as a medical assistant in private practice, particularly in primary care or specialty settings, is preferred.LICENSURE
Medical Assisting Certification is preferred.SPECIAL SKILLS
Strong organizational, communication, customer service, and teamwork skills are essential.Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required.CPR certification is preferred; bilingual skills are a plus.The ideal candidate will uphold a philosophy aligned with a patient-centered approach to care, demonstrating professionalism and effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare colleagues.
