Job descriptionPerform detailed quality reviews of various tax filings for C corporations, passthrough entities, individuals, trusts and estates Correspond with tax agencies to address tax compliance matters as necessary Communicate with clients and stakeholders regarding tax matters Strategize with partners and the client engagement teams on tax planning Research federal, state, and cross-border tax issues Monitor regulatory changes and advise the Firm on relevant tax legislation Manage and mentor tax preparers to greater levels of effectiveness and efficiency
Required Experience & Qualifications :
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in accounting / taxation
- Certified Public Accountant in New York
- 5+ years of experience in public accounting focused on corporate and individual income taxation
- Extensive experience preparing and reviewing federal, state and local income tax returns for all types of entities and individuals
- Thorough and extensive understanding of the tax code
- Strong accounting and analytical skills
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong ability to manage projects utilizing accounting best practices to efficiently prioritize tasks
- Experience with QuickBooks is preferred
