A minimum of 2 years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. • Work 3 twelve-hour shifts per week with every other weekend requirement
• Patient ratios of 1 : 4 to 1 : 5 on days and 1 : 5 to 1 : 6 on nights
• Work with specialized equipment including BiPAPs, high flow oxygen, Vapotherm, Alaris pumps, cardiac drips, heparin drips, insulin drips, peritoneal dialysis, and wound vacs
• Documentation using Meditech system
• May float between PCU units or to medical-surgical floors
• Perform hourly rounding on days and every 2-hour rounding on nights
• Required certifications : BLS and ACLS
• Must have critical thinking skills, EKG rhythm interpretation, and experience with cardiac, insulin, and heparin drips
• Peripheral IV skills required and peritoneal dialysis experience preferred
• Experience needed with stroke care, post cardiac catheterization care, tube feedings, and NG / Dobhoff tubes
• Procedures performed include peritoneal dialysis, thoracentesis, paracentesis, chest tube insertions, Dobhoff / NG tube insertions, and central line dressing changes
• Unit utilizes self-scheduling with 4-week schedule blocks
• Black scrubs required
