Job Description
Your Mission : Keep Critical Sterilization Lines Running
What if your next fix protected patients worldwide? At STERIS AST, we’ve provided contract sterilization services for over four decades across 50+ facilities. We operate in a validated, cGMP environment where safety and reliability are everything—and we’re inviting you to play a central role.
Imagine This Challenge
A conveyor-driven system halts mid-cycle. You pull the schematic, verify LOTO, and dive into root cause. Is it a PLC input? A servo misalignment? A wiring fault at a fixture? You isolate the issue, restore the line, update the CMMS, and recommend a Lean tweak to prevent recurrence. That’s a win for uptime and, ultimately, for the people who depend on sterile products.
What You’ll Own
- End-to-end troubleshooting across modalities, technologies, and locations, ensuring validated equipment performance in a cGMP setting.
- Preventive maintenance on high-volume systems; review PM frequency / effectiveness and propose continuous improvement through Lean and 5S.
- Reliability work on equipment and facilities, including predictive tasks, new equipment installations, and building systems care.
- Electrical work : install and repair wiring and fixtures; maintain facility lighting.
- General maintenance : landscaping, painting, and carpentry.
- Safety and compliance : conduct scheduled inspections; document to GMP standards; follow LOTO, SDS, and environmental waste / disposal procedures.
- Production responsiveness : finish shift assignments and, when needed, support off-shift calls and after-hours emergency response.
- Inventory and CMMS discipline : manage spare parts, maintain tools, record work accurately, and escalate items for supervisor decisions when required.
- Learning mindset : follow work instructions, policies, and procedures; engage in on-the-job training and demonstrate role capability.
Physical Requirements : Some sterilization modalities (e.g., Gamma) require sustained physical effort, strength, and endurance.
