Manager, Platform Engineering

Allegion is looking for a passionate to work as part of a highly engaged small team within a global organization of 12,000+ employees, representing 30+ brands (including Schlage, Von Duprin and LCN) focused on safety, security and access management. What you’ll do :

  • Lead and manage a team of platform engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to foster their professional growth and ensure high-quality delivery of projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align with business objectives and technical requirements.
  • Define and enforce engineering best practices, standards, and processes to ensure the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and maintainable platform solutions.
  • Oversee the design, development, testing, and deployment of platform infrastructure, ensuring its stability, security, and performance.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical requirements, ensuring the platform meets current and future needs.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize platform performance, reliability, and efficiency, leveraging automation and monitoring tools.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in platform engineering, and apply them to enhance our platform capabilities.
  • Monitor and analyze platform metrics and performance indicators, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, such as product management, operations, and security, to ensure seamless integration and alignment of platform solutions.

What we’re looking  [SJ1]  for :

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in relevant years of work experience.
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Proven experience in platform engineering or a similar role, with a strong understanding of platform infrastructure and architecture.
  • Experience in managing and leading engineering teams, fostering collaboration, and driving a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Strong knowledge of software development methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, agile environment.
  • Experience with platform technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is highly desirable.
  • Preferred :  Knowledge of security and compliance requirements related to platform infrastructure. Experience working in a matrixed organization.

    Compensation :   This range is provided by Allegion. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience.

  • The expected Base Salary Range : $116,300 - $174,900. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
  • Bonus Eligible : Yes
