This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Site Reliability Engineer II in the United States.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to maintain and scale large-scale distributed systems serving billions of requests and petabytes of data. You will design, build, and optimize software and infrastructure to improve system reliability, performance, and operability. Working closely with engineering teams, you will implement automation, frameworks, and tools that reduce operational overhead and improve capacity management. The position provides exposure to both public and private cloud environments and the chance to influence core system architecture. Accountabilities

  • Develop software solutions to ensure reliability, scalability, and operability of distributed systems.
  • Build tools, automation, and frameworks to reduce operational toil and increase system efficiency.
  • Monitor system behavior, identify risks, and implement remediation strategies for performance and reliability issues.
  • Design and track meaningful Service Level Indicators (SLIs) to inform engineering decisions.
  • Manage infrastructure capacity and performance across cloud and on-premises environments.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to create best practices, standards, and processes for system reliability.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of professional programming experience in Python or Go.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux / Unix / BSD internals and experience with open-source software (e.g., MySQL, Hadoop, Nginx, Envoy, HAProxy).
  • Experience with distributed systems technologies such as Elasticsearch, ZooKeeper, HBase, Memcache, Kafka, and Hadoop.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Docker) is a plus.
  • Experience deploying web applications on cloud infrastructure (AWS or equivalent) and understanding service-oriented architectures.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
