Job description

LocumJobsOnline is working with Barton Associates to find a qualified General Surgery MD in West Virginia!

About The Position

We are seeking a board-certified General Surgeon for a 60-day locum tenens assignment in West Virginia. This opportunity begins on Nov 3, 2025, and features 24-hour weekend call coverage. The position entails providing all-call surgical services, including phone consults and patient admissions, in a dynamic hospital setting.

Job Details

  • Provider Type Needed : General Surgeon
  • Schedule : Weekends, 7AM - 7AM, 24-hour call coverage

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide 24-hour call coverage for surgical services
  • Respond to 3-5 phone consults per shift
  • Admit and manage 3-5 new patients per shift
  • Oversee care for 5-10 patients per shift
  • Handle a full spectrum of general surgery cases as required
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation
  • Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure continuity of care

    • Additional Information

  • Must have an active and unrestricted West Virginia medical license
  • Board certification in Surgery required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and Advanced Burn Life Support (ABLS) certifications required
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience necessary
  • Assignment to begin as soon as credentialing is completed, with ongoing needs anticipated
