Job Title : Calibration Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Calibration Technician to join our team. This role involves maintaining and updating calibration tools and systems to meet ISO standards, participating in receiving inspections, and ensuring quality assurance in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, a mechanical inclination, and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments.

Responsibilities

  • Update calibrations of standard tools such as calipers, verniers, and dial indicators.
  • Maintain and update the calibration recall system to ISO standards.
  • Keep the work area clean at all times, adhering to the 5 S’s methodology.
  • Participate in receiving inspections, examining articles for defects and sorting them according to the extent of defect as per the Quality Manual.
  • Attach identification data onto articles and record factors causing goods to be returned.
  • Complete vendor return forms and forward them to purchasing within one hour of determining goods to be returned.
  • Contact suppliers for corrected or missing certifications when applicable.
  • Unload and unpack incoming shipments.
  • For customer returns, maintain a daily customer return log and distribute it to management.
  • Maintain the Quality Receiving Log.

Essential Skills

  • High school diploma.
  • Two years of calibration experience.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend instructions related to QA applications of aerospace products.
  • Ability to interface with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Management to resolve product-related issues.
  • Proficiency in mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems using available data and apply common sense.
  • Capability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Mechanically inclined.
  • Experience with hand tools and test equipment.

    Work Environment

    This position is based in a manufacturing shop. The work involves physical demands such as frequent use of hands and arms, and occasionally standing, walking, sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. The role requires the ability to lift and / or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, 7 AM to 3 : 30 PM, with a possibility of overtime.

    The pay range for this position is $56160.00 - $83200.00 / yr.
