You will review medical histories, diagnose patient functions and movements, develop individualized care plans, and use exercises, stretching, and equipment to ease pain and improve mobility.

You may work in hospitals, outpatient clinics, home health, schools, sports and fitness facilities, workplaces, or nursing homes, treating patients of all ages and a variety of conditions. Recommended qualifications include a physical therapy degree, a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT), and at least 24 months of experience in your clinical specialty. Licensure as a physical therapist is required. Experience in multiple clinical areas and adaptability to different settings are valuable.
