About the Role

We’re seeking a

detail-oriented, patient-focused Prior Authorization Specialist

to join our growing team in Pittsburgh. In this role, you’ll be the driving force behind the prior authorization (PA) process—acting as the connector between prescribers, insurance plans, and patients to ensure timely access to specialty medications. This is a full-time, onsite position with a Monday–Friday schedule.

What You’ll Do

Investigate : Verify benefits and determine PA requirements for new cases.

Communicate & Gather : Work closely with prescribers’ offices to collect all required clinical documentation.

Assemble & Submit : Build accurate, “clean” PA case files and submit them to insurance plans.

Follow-Up & Troubleshoot : Track case progress, resolve issues, and ensure timely approvals.

Collaborate : Use evolving technology tools and support your team with positivity and professionalism.

What We’re Looking For

Required Experience

Minimum

2 years of specialty pharmacy experience

with prior authorization and benefit verification for specialty medications

Required Skills

Strong knowledge of medical terminology, insurance navigation, and drug nomenclature.

Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal.

Ability to multitask and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment.

Proficiency with computers and the ability to learn new software quickly.

Preferred Skills

Highly organized and detail-oriented.

Strong critical thinking and independent problem-solving skills.

Effective time management with the ability to prioritize competing tasks.

Additional Details

100% onsite position at our Pittsburgh facility.

Shift availability flexes between

8 : 00 AM – 6 : 00 PM .
