Forest Ecology Technician

Overview

Forest ecology technician for field work in Grouse Creek Utah, assisting with field work collecting vegetation and landscape data across pinyon-juniper woodlands.

Responsibilities

Collect vegetation and landscape data, notate and manage data, operate field vehicles, maintain safe working conditions, learn and follow field protocol.

Time Allocation :

• 70% sampling at plot locations
• 20% travel to and from plots
• 5% equipment maintenance and
• 5% data management and submission

Employees work outside and will not be protected from weather conditions, including extreme cold and extreme heat for extended periods. Expect hot and dry climate, significant sun exposure, regular hikes through sloped terrain up to maximum of 6 miles. Applicants are expected to carry 4L water into field at all times and assist in carrying equipment to sampling locations.
