The Investment Specialist job is primarily focused on directly supporting and working with our Institutional clients / prospects and helping advisors at Abacus present investments to clients, with a special emphasis on our private market offerings. For existing clients, the Investment Specialist, will serve as the primary liaison between the client and the firm, handling most of the day-to-day. For prospects, the Investment Specialist will manage and coordinate the RFP process and response. This position is remote, but local to our Santa Monica or San Carlos office is preferred. The starting salary range for this role is $95k - $110k + opportunity for Lead Generation Bonuses.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manages day-to-day investment projects and investment related requests from advisors and other departments
- Attends all Investment Committee meetings
- Handles the day-to-day support for the institutional clients and business at Abacus
- Is well versed in our investment philosophy and over time becomes comfortable explaining and presenting it to clients, prospects and advisors
- Is well versed in our private market funds and over time becomes comfortable explaining and presenting them to clients, prospects and advisors
- Responding to RFPs from institutional prospects
Keys to Success
Alignment with our Core Values – not just on your resume, but in your daily actions and decisionsRequires a minimum of 3 years of experience in the investment industry (+ MBA or CFA), with an emphasis on supporting client relationships, preferably at an asset management companyMBA or CFA is preferable, but not required if you have at least 7 years of experience in the investment industryGreat written and verbal communication skillsProject management skills are criticalA track record of delivering exceptional client service within the investment industryBasic knowledge of the ESG and impact investing industry is required.
