Job Description
Senior GIS Administrator
Summary :
Responsible for analyzing, maintaining, and updating Geographic Information System (GIS) data in order to ensure reliable map displays.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Accurately adds and edits GIS data to the system.
Provides project coordination for specific GIS projects and implements other related new systems.
Recommends policies to management for the use of GIS systems.
Oversees testing of new GIS systems and identifies discrepancies in information processing.
Interprets survey plats, topographic maps, construction layouts, and record drawings.
Prints maps and provides information in various formats to be used by government agencies, companies, and the general public.
Analyzes the City's GIS needs and requirements; identifies goals, objectives, and problems; examines alternatives; and develops conclusions and recommendations.
Performs GIS / GPS troubleshooting and fieldwork.
Designs, develops, implements, and supports software systems for approved GIS, GPS, and aerial / digital orthophotography projects.
Assists in preparation for, response to, and recovery from, the impacts of a wide variety of disasters or emergency situations and may be temporarily assigned to other duties, locations, and shifts.
Meets attendance requirements.
Promotes positive customer service environment internally and externally.
Performs other job-related functions as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities :
Directly responsible for supervision of subordinate employees assigned to the GIS Department.
Education and / or Experience :
College Degree in GIS, Geography, Planning, Engineering, Computer Science, or closely related field plus at least a minimum of three years of experience working with GIS, or closely related field.
A minimum of one year experience in any of the following : ESRI technologies (ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Pro), personal geodatabases and Microsoft Windows 10 or higher.
A combination of education and experience may be considered.
Qualification Requirements :

Possession of a valid Florida driver's license.
GISP or ESRI technical certification preferred but not required.
