ID : 73964927 Shift : 8H Evenings M-F Description : Unit TITLE : Administrative Nurse Manager (ANM), Operating RoomSUMMARY OF Montefiore Administrative Nurse Manager, Operating Room maintains standards of the practice fornursing as defined by the American Nurses Association Code of Ethics, Nursing Scope and Standards ofPractice and Nursing s Social Policy Statement.The Administrative Nurse Manager, Operating Room actualizes the vision, mission, values, balancedscorecard and performance measures for Montefiore Medical Center.The Administrative Nurse Manager, Operating Room participates in performance improvement / researchactivities; maintains professional practice standards and clinical expertise; and demonstrates leadershipskills. The Administrative Nurse Manager, Operating Room demonstrates core and unit specificcompetencies based on the patient population served.Has a 24 hour responsibility for the supervision, scheduling, hiring, firing and performance appraisal ofnursing and ancillary associates within one or more Surgical specialties in the Operating Room.Coordinates other activities including but not limited to inventory management, budgeting andperformance improvement activities in order to promote efficient / effective operations and quality patientcare. Demonstrates leadership and clinical expertise in area (s) of responsibility. Responsible fordeveloping and maintaining competence of assigned associates.EDUCATION, TRAINING & York State Registered Professional License and current registration or valid permit to practice inNew York State.Masters Degree from an accredited program required or must be registered in a Master's program with projected graduation date in three years of position acceptance.M.S.N. preferred.Minimum of five years management experienceC.N.O.R CertificationMembership in A.O.R.N.MOST FREQUENT CONTACTS NATURE OR PURPOSEOR Management Associates Clinical Practice and quality assurance. Collaboration andcommunication with meeting balanced performance measures.Patients / Families Assessment; care management, direct patient care;Interdisciplinary Professional Collaboration re : plan of care, coordination of supplies andequipment.Team Members Collaborate in order to coordinate, and maintain continuity andquality of care.Other Service Associates Coordinate and expedite plan of care; problem solving.Educational Services Assess and provide educational needs of the associates.INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENTAssessment of patient / family needs for care.Identification of actual and potential quality issues.Appropriateness of plan of care, resource utilization and discharge plan.Variance identification and initiation of appropriate nursing care.EQUIPMENT OPERATIONUse of patient care equipmentUse of automated clinical information system.INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT / CRITICAL THINKINGJOB RESPONSIBILITIES PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTIONI.
