The Senior Compensation Specialist plays a key role in the design and administration of compensation programs for every level of the organization – from frontline employees to executives. This role ensures alignment between pay practices and business strategy to support talent attraction, retention, internal equity, and market competitiveness. Success in this role requires strong analytical capabilities, as well as a comprehensive understanding of compensation practices, market dynamics, and compliance implications, particularly within a public company environment.

This is a salaried exempt position, reporting to the HR Manager – Analytics, Systems & Rewards, working closely with the Chief Human Resources Officer on Executive Compensation matters.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, and Finance to provide compensation guidance, market data analysis, and modeling.
  • Prepare reports, dashboards, and presentations for company leadership, including analyses for the Compensation Committee of the Board related to Executive Compensation, long-term incentives, etc.
  • Support SEC reporting and compliance filings.
  • Lead administration for the company’s equity incentive plan.
  • Participate in and analyze compensation market surveys at all organizational levels; provide recommendations based on benchmarking and internal equity assessments.
  • Lead the annual compensation planning cycle, including merit increases, bonus programs, and long-term incentive planning.
  • Perform job evaluations by partnering with HR Business Partners and Hiring Managers to determine appropriate classifications and pay grade placements.
  • Support other compensation-related projects, such as pay equity reviews, incentive plan design, or due diligence as needed.
  • Develop and deliver communication strategies that enhance employee awareness of compensation programs and encourage active engagement with incentive and reward offerings.
  • Ensure compensation practices comply with relevant labor laws and regulations, while also reflecting best practices in total rewards.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of progressive experience in compensation or total rewards; experience in a public company environment preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise in executive pay structures, equity-based incentives, and public company disclosure requirements.
  • Proficient in developing and delivering clear, data-driven presentations for stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership and the Board.
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (macros, formulas, dashboards)
  • CCP or SHRM-CP, preferred.
