Key Functions

• Calculate core size, cross-sectional area, and shape based on power rating and flux density.
• Compute the number of turns on primary and secondary windings, wire gauge, copper areas, and insulation thickness.
• Determine voltage per turn and turns ratio for specified input and output voltages.
• Simulate heat dissipation, temperature rise, and cooling system design (oil-immersed, air-cooled, forced air).
• Analyze losses leading to heat generation including copper losses, hysteresis, and eddy currents.
• Perform magnetic field and flux simulations using FEA or BEM.
• Calculate leakage inductances, mutual inductances, and parasitic capacitances.
• Analyze partial discharge, corona effects, and dielectric strength of insulation.
• Quantify core losses (hysteresis, eddy currents) and copper losses and optimize design for minimal losses.
• Analyze mechanical stresses due to short circuits, thermal expansion, and vibrations.
• Ensure structural integrity and proper cooling through mechanical design consideration.
• Ensure transformer design meets IEC, IEEE, ANSI standards for safety and performance.
• Simulate fault conditions, overcurrent protection, and transient responses.
