Enbridge is hiring a Construction Inspector I to work within our Gas Distribution Construction group in the South Raleigh Operations area. The Construction Inspector I will be responsible for communicating installation standard practices and policies, to contractors and developers while preparing inspection reports, including contractor evaluations, completion reports, and service line installation orders.

Here's what you will do :

• Perform all duties of Construction Inspector I.
• Use GPS to collect new Main and Service As-Builts, collect Replacement and Maintenance work and retire Mains, Services, and related points.
• Become familiar using advanced functionality of CartoPac (Start Measure, Reverse Vertex).
• Communicate installation standard practices and policies, to contractors and developers.
• Prepare inspection reports, including contractor evaluations, completion reports, and service line installation orders.
• Resolve complaints and problems with customers, preconstruction personnel, and company crews.
• Coach developers to get projects ready prior to installation.
• Documents inspection work in the HUB. Works within the scope of permit issued by state, county, or city when applicable.
• Assists with large replacement projects, from design to completion.

Working Conditions : Work is performed outside in varying weather conditions (i.e. cold, heat, rain, etc.) and requires routine use of proper PPE including but not limited to hard hat, safety glasses, safety vest, FR clothing, and work boots per company policies. Position requires continuous travel throughout the service territory with frequent stops, entering / exiting the company vehicle, safely parking in a wide variety of situations, and driving in construction zones. Position requires prolonged use of a computer keyboard and scanner.
