Job description

The Amazon Web Services Professional Services (ProServe) team is searching for a seasoned Cloud Architect to join our organization. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate closely with customers to comprehend their technical requirements and business aspirations, while crafting customized cloud solutions. Your expertise will be integral to the pre-sales process, offering technical knowledge and guidance throughout the customer's cloud journey.

As a Cloud Architect, you will be tasked with :

  • Designing complex, scalable, and secure AWS solutions to fulfill customer business outcomes.
  • Providing technical direction and best practices during both pre-sales and implementation stages.
  • Collaborating with Account Managers and Shared Delivery Teams to ensure proposed solutions are viable and achievable.
  • Servicing as a trusted advisor to clients on industry trends and cutting-edge technologies.
  • Promoting knowledge within the team through mentoring, training, and the creation of reusable artifacts.

To succeed in this position, your experience in the technology and consulting sector will enable you to architect sophisticated solutions tailored to meet individual customer needs while translating technical concepts into tangible business value. Your contributions as a Cloud Architect will be instrumental in influencing the signing of Statements of Work (SOWs) and achieving favorable implementation outcomes, thereby exceeding customer satisfaction expectations.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of experience in cloud architecture and implementation.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong development experience with programming languages (e.g., Python, Java) and data technologies (SQL, NoSQL, Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Kinesis).
  • 3+ years of experience with AWS services, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation), and security compliance tools.
  • Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS / SCI with Polygraph.
  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Advanced technology degree or AWS Professional level certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect Professional, DevOps Engineer Professional).
  • Extensive knowledge of AWS services across various domains such as computing, storage, and machine learning.
  • Familiarity with security and compliance standards (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR).
  • Proven track record in optimizing performance and managing costs in cloud environments.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Experience in technical pre-sales and mission-oriented solution architecture.
  • Previous involvement with federal / defense clients on enterprise cloud migration initiatives.

    The base pay for this position ranges from $138,200 / year to $239,000 / year, depending on market location and experience. In addition, we offer a comprehensive total compensation package that may include equity, sign-on payments, and a full array of benefits to support your health and well-being.
