TruckPro is looking for a Monday through Friday, daylight Heavy Duty Shop Technician / Service Writer ( hybrid ) , with weekends off at our Denver location. Come work for one of the nation’s largest independent distributors of heavy-duty truck, trailer parts, and repair services.

Shop Mechanic Hybrid responsibilties

  • Perform repairs to customer vehicles and trailers
  • Perform basic welding functions
  • Inform customer / manager of completion times, services expenses, and possible changes
  • Monitor the profit / loss of each job to maximize profitability while maintaining the highest standards of quality; minimize warranty claims and re-work
  • Determine problems and services by listening to customer’s descriptions of symptoms, clarifying description problems, conducting inspections, checking maintenance records, and examining service schedules
  • Discuss repairs and findings with mechanics and documents accordingly
  • Verify warranty and service contract coverage by examining records
  • Obtain authorizations and produce estimates by costing materials, supplies, and labor

    • Shop Mechanic Hybrid Candidates Will Have :

  • Related experience as Service Writer or Lead Mechanic
  • Knowledge of medium / heavy duty diesel trucks & trailers required
  • Comprehensive understanding of service operations in the truck industry
  • Excellent customer service
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills required
  • Demonstrated mechanical inclination and interest in the heavy-duty industry
  • Proven problem-solving skills
  • Organized and has ability to multi-task
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite products with ability to conduct basic tasks in Excel
