Vice President - Industrials M&A Investment Banking

Location : Chicago (Flexible)

Base pay range : $250,000 - $300,000

A boutique investment bank is seeking a strategic and experienced Vice President to join its Industrials M&A team. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with senior bankers and clients across manufacturing, transportation, energy, and related verticals, advising on transformative transactions that shape the future of the industrial economy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute mergers and acquisitions transactions within the industrials sector
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients by understanding their operations, financial goals, and industry dynamics
  • Originate new business opportunities through strategic insights and market knowledge
  • Execute capital markets transactions including debt and equity offerings
  • Develop advanced financial models and valuation analyses to support client recommendations
  • Prepare and deliver compelling presentations and pitch materials
  • Collaborate across lean, high‑performing internal teams to ensure seamless transaction execution and exceptional client service

Leadership & Strategic Expectations

  • Contribute to strategic planning, resource allocation, and policy development within the team
  • Drive continuous improvement in processes and ensure adherence to governance and control standards
  • Advise senior stakeholders on cross‑functional impacts and alignment with broader business goals
  • Manage and mitigate risks through proactive assessment and oversight
  • If managing a team, define roles, counsel on performance, and contribute to compensation decisions
  • Demonstrate leadership behaviors that foster authenticity, inspiration, alignment, and development
  • As an individual contributor, act as a subject matter expert, guiding technical direction and mentoring junior professionals
  • Lead multi‑year initiatives and collaborate across disciplines to deliver innovative solutions
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders, using influence and negotiation to achieve business outcomes
  • Qualifications

  • Significant experience in investment banking, with a strong focus on industrials M&A
  • Deep understanding of corporate finance and partnership structures within industrial verticals
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Strong team orientation and ability to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders
  • Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, valuation techniques, and presentation development
