Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Nurse

Job Description

The competent Registered Nurse provides routine and complex care in the ICU neonatal unit. They practice independently, demonstrating awareness of all relevant aspects and continue to develop their ability to cope with and manage clinical nursing contingencies.

Responsibilities :

Meets expectations of applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies : Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.

Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.

Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patient and families according to their level of practice.

Administers medications and treatments, monitors side-effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatment.

Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and given care.

Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and / or caregivers.

Required Skills and Qualifications :

Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing is preferred.

One year of experience in related nursing specialty is preferred.

RN License in state of employment or compact is required.
