Automotive Technician – GST / Porter
Location : Del City, OK
Schedule : Monday – Friday | 7 : 15 AM – 5 : 30 PM
Pay : $11 – $17 / hour (Based on Experience)
Purpose & Objective
The General Service Technician (GST) is responsible for the quality, cleanliness, and presentation of every serviced vehicle. This role includes performing Quality Control inspections , assisting with vehicle cleanliness , managing the shuttle van , and supporting the shop team and customers —all to help create an exceptional customer experience.
Primary Responsibilities
Quality Control
Perform QC inspections in Tekmetric for all serviced vehicles
Confirm repairs resolve the original customer complaint
Test drive vehicles as needed to verify repairs
Record odometer readings during QC inspections
Report any unresolved dashboard warning lights to management
Vehicle Cleanliness & Presentation
Apply and update lube stickers with correct service information
Perform a mini-clean on each vehicle :
Vacuum floors (front or full interior if possible)
Wipe dashboard, steering wheel, and interior surfaces
Clean wheels
Remove tools, footprints, fingerprints before delivery
Park vehicle in a customer-friendly location
Perform full exterior wash when directed by management
Porter Duties
Shuttle customers to and from the shop as needed
Pick up and deliver parts at the request of management
Shuttle Van Management
Maintain van cleanliness inside and out
Keep the van fueled and ready for use
Report any maintenance needs to management
Secondary Responsibilities
Shop Cleanliness & Organization
Help maintain a clean and organized :
Shop
Bathrooms
Customer lobby
Empty trash, sweep / mop floors regularly
Keep work areas free from hazards for technicians
General Support
Assist front office staff and management with daily tasks
Be available to help ensure a smooth shop workflow
Qualifications, Skills & Abilities
Basic automotive knowledge and ability to identify vehicle components
Ability to perform services such as oil changes and tire rotations
Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to operate various vehicles safely
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality work
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical shop tasks
Professional, customer-oriented attitude
Ability to read, write, and do basic math in English
