Summary
The Utility Floater Team Member is a multi-task position, responsible for performing and providing support for the weld prep and weld fabrication team. This position will operate in a "floater capacity" where the individual will be expected to fill in for various operations and responsibilities within the weld prep and weld production area as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for quality and quantity of sub-assemblies
- Responsible for quality of product before final shipment
- Follow blue-prints and complete saw activities
- Inspect parts for non-conformances or defects
- Manually layout and cut parts according to print specifications
- Set tooling as needed to cut parts
- Safe operation of overhead cranes and forklifts (loading / unloading)
- Responsible for safe operation and maintenance of equipment as required
- Maintain an efficient, clean and organized work area
- Operates machines for cutting and punching plates
- Places workpiece on table manually or by using overhead cranes
- Aligns workpiece to scale and end gauge on machine and clamps it to the table
- Continuous improvement in support of department and company goals
- Supports, participates and encourages team building
- Provide feedback, both positive and negative, to the team, other related departments and the supervisor
- Promotes a positive work environment
- Follow and adhere to all ICON Shelters procedures and policies
