Coordinates and performs aspects of patient care before, during, and after Cardiac Cath / EP / Hybrid OR related procedures. Circulates, scrubs using aseptic or sterile technique, monitors and documents hemodynamics and patient events during procedure to provide quality patient care for patients undergoing procedures in the Cardiac Cath / EP Lab / Hybrid OR. Utilization and management of digital x-ray equipment and archiving system.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Assists physician by scrubbing for invasive vascular and cardiac catheterization services for adult patients using approved protocols.
• Explains procedure to patient and provides patient education as needed at the time of the procedure.
• Practices and enforces radiation protection during the cases. Notifies clinicians in the room when thresholds have been reached.
• Assumes care for physical and psychological needs of the patients during procedures in conjunction with other team members
• Practices sterile technique during the procedure and enforces that of other personnel in the room
