Job description

Production Manager – Maritime Battery Systems

Echandia Marine U.S. is building the future of clean maritime energy and we're doing it from the ground up. As the U.S. arm of a proven Swedish leader in advanced lithium-ion battery systems, we're in full startup mode : setting up operations, growing our team, and delivering next-generation battery systems for vessels that demand absolute reliability.

We're looking for a Production Manager who thrives in a hands-on, fast-moving environment someone who doesn't just manage processes but builds them. If you're the kind of person who sees a gap and fills it, takes ownership from day one, and brings structure and energy to a growing operation, you'll fit right in.

What You'll Do

  • Lead day-to-day production operations for our U.S. facility.
  • Build and optimize processes to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and increase throughput.
  • Develop clear, detailed work instructions and SOPs for production staff.
  • Interpret wiring and mechanical diagrams to support electro-mechanical assembly and troubleshooting.
  • Partner with engineering, supply chain, and quality teams to ensure smooth design-to-build transitions.
  • Apply Lean or Six Sigma tools to continuously improve quality and productivity.
  • Train, coach, and motivate production team members to follow best practices and safety standards.
  • Help design shop layouts, recommend equipment, and support setup for future growth.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years in production or manufacturing engineering, including team leadership.
  • 3+ years working under classification or regulatory compliance (e.g., DNV, ABS, Coast Guard).
  • Strong understanding of electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • Proven experience writing work instructions and SOPs that people follow.
  • Familiarity with Lean / Six Sigma, CAD, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication skills and a track record of cross-team collaboration.
  • Reliable transportation and flexibility for occasional overtime when needed.
  • Who Thrives Here

  • Love building processes and structure from scratch.
  • Are energized by problem-solving and hands-on work.
  • Take initiative instead of waiting for direction.
  • Can shift gears fast and stay calm under pressure.
  • Believe "startup mode" means opportunity not chaos.
  • Why Echandia

We're a small, mission-driven team with global impact. You'll help establish a new U.S. production base for a company that's already powering vessels worldwide. Your ideas will shape our systems, your effort will be visible, and your impact will be real.

    Benefits

  • A leadership role in a cutting-edge company redefining maritime electrification.
  • A chance to shape Echandia's commercial success in a key region.
  • Competitive salary, incentive plan, and potential equity participation.
  • Comprehensive benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and professional development.
  • Salary range - $95,000 - $135,000
