At New Start Staffing, our Caregivers provide compassionate, dedicated care to elderly, disabled, ill, and other vulnerable individuals who need assistance at home. We're currently seeking empathetic, Mandarin-speaking Caregivers who can connect genuinely with clients, understand their unique needs, and consistently deliver respectful and quality care.
Caregiver Job Purpose : Provide personalized non-medical care and companionship to clients, assisting with daily living activities, personal hygiene, mobility, and household tasks, ensuring comfort, safety, and dignity at all times.
Schedule : Flexible scheduling available (part-time and full-time). Position requires travel to client homes across Pierce, South King, Kitsap, and Thurston counties.
Location : Administrative office located in Orting, WA. Caregivers will travel to client homes within Pierce, South King, Kitsap, and Thurston counties.
Caregiver Responsibilities :
Interacting compassionately and providing companionship to clients in Mandarin and English.
Traveling between homes to deliver care to multiple clients.
Providing a warm, welcoming, and supportive care environment.
Listening carefully to clients' needs, preferences, and concerns.
Assisting clients with personal hygiene (bathing, dressing, grooming, dental care, toileting).
Recording basic health information (weight, food intake, bowel movements / urination).
Reporting any medical, emotional, psychological, or behavioral changes immediately to the supervisor.
Assisting clients with meal preparation, eating, and kitchen cleanup.
Performing household tasks such as bed-making, laundry, dusting, sweeping, and dishwashing.
Accompanying clients to medical appointments, grocery shopping, and approved outings or social activities.
Supporting clients' mobility, including transfers, wheelchair assistance, and navigating stairs.
Medication reminders according to prescribed schedules.
Responding immediately and appropriately to medical and other emergencies.
Accurately inputting daily chart notes into AxisCare software.
Other non-medical tasks as assigned.
Caregiver Requirements & Qualifications :
Fluent in Mandarin and English (speaking and writing).
Current Home Care Aide Certification (HCA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
CPR / First Aid Certification or ability to obtain certification within 15 days of hire.
Department of Health Food Handler Certification or ability to obtain within 15 days of hire.
Ability to pass an FBI, Washington State Patrol, DSHS / DOH background checks for unsupervised care.
Valid driver's license, current auto insurance, reliable vehicle, and clean driving record.
Basic data entry and word processing skills.
Reliable, punctual, flexible, and committed to ongoing training.
Ability to pass drug screening.
Physically capable of lifting, pushing, or pulling 50 lbs or more, prolonged walking, and stair climbing.
Accurately input daily chart notes into AxisCare software.
Attend and actively participate in team meetings and training sessions.

Probationary Period : Caregivers undergo a 90-day probationary period from the hire date. PTO accrues during this time but cannot be used until after completing probation, contingent upon qualifying events. Vacation accrual begins after the probationary period but can only be utilized after your one-year anniversary. PTO and vacation hours will not be cashed out.
