Steps Therapy specializes in providing comprehensive programs to enhance a child’s independence. By combining highly-trained Behavior Technicians, transparent data collection, and developmentally appropriate programming, we will create a program our clients can trust— with results that are evident. We provide client services primarily in San Francisco, Daly City, South San Francisco, San Bruno, Millbrae, San Mateo, Foster City, and Redwood City.
We are always seeking qualified Behavior Technicians who are dedicated to helping others and making a difference in a child's life! This position is ideal for individuals interested in exploring careers in education, occupational therapy, speech and language pathology, and psychology. Starting pay is between $18.00 - $25.00 per hour, dependent on experience, education level, and certification level.
- Please note this position is not remote / virtual and requires client services to be provided in person.
As a Behavior Technician, you will be responsible for implementing early intervention programs to young children with special needs, and providing their families with training to reinforce learned skills.
Primary Responsibilities
Provide 1 : 1 in-home or school-based intensive behavioral therapyCarry out individualized lessons and behavior plans as directed by the supervisorUtilize ABA instructional strategies, including but not limited to discrete trial teaching, natural environment training, incidental teaching, pivotal response training, and verbal behaviorFacilitate social skills trainingRecord the child's progress, graph data, and update data sheetsAttend team meetings as needed, as well as internal and external professional workshopsCommunicate with supervisors regarding the child's progress / behaviors and any intervention modificationsWork collaboratively with teammates, parents, and other professionalsMaintain an organized program binder and complete required paperworkMaintain agreed upon schedule for the child and arrive at scheduled sessions on timeMake reasonable attempts to provide make-up sessions or find substitutes for missed sessionsMaintain client confidentialityPerform other related duties as requiredPhysical Demands
Ability to regularly stand, sit, squat, bend, twist, and lift up to 50 lbs.Qualifications
Completion of high school diploma or equivalent requiredExperience working with children preferredExperience using ABA-based strategies a plusPursuing undergraduate studies in psychology or education fields a plusEmployment conditional upon satisfactory background checkDesired Skills
