PDI Technician

Sterling KIA in Lafayette, LA is looking for a detail-oriented PDI Technician to join our team.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for inspecting and preparing vehicles before they reach our customers or sales lot.

The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, enjoys hands-on tasks, and ensures every vehicle meets the high standards our customers expect.

Key Responsibilities :

• Perform thorough pre-delivery inspections on new and used vehicles following manufacturer and dealership standards Check fluid levels, tire pressure, lights, and overall vehicle functionality Take each vehicle on a short test drive to verify proper operation and performance Identify and report any cosmetic or mechanical issues Install accessories or perform basic adjustments as needed Complete required inspection forms accurately and promptly Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Move vehicles safely throughout the lot and service area Complete all required manufacturer certification training for PDI procedures Qualifications & Requirements : Basic mechanical knowledge or interest in automotive systems preferred Strong attention to detail and ability to follow inspection checklists Able to safely operate both automatic and manual transmission vehicles Reliable, punctual, and efficient in a fast-paced environment Comfortable using an electronic tablet for inspection reporting Able to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and performing tasks such as bending, reaching, and standing for long periods Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required; must be at least 21 years old or have 3 years of driving experience (insurance requirement) Must pass a background check and pre-employment drug screen High school diploma or equivalent required Schedule : Full-time, Monday-Friday 7 : 00AM-5 : 30PM Compensation : Pay is commission-based Why Choose Sterling?  Our mission is to attract, develop, and retain great people to deliver a memorable experience that creates lasting relationships, one customer at a time.
