SUMMARY
The Staff Accountant is responsible for daily reports and audits of Casino financial activity. This position will work in all areas of financial accounting for the casino.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reconcile daily banking information and provide monthly analysis related to bank accounts, credit card batch submissions, patron checks cashed, and receivables.
- Provide monthly reconciliation of cash clearing accounts and deposits in transit. Assist with the accounts payable process and ensure that A / P aging report (subsystem detail) balances to general ledger control account total (liability account).

- Participate in counting / auditing inventory on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Maintain fixed assets and related documentation including CERs, POs and related vendor invoices for each project.
- Participate in monthly close and prepare journal entries and reconciliations in a timely manner and in accordance with GAAP.
- Assist with annual capital and financial operating budgets.
- Prepare monthly financial reporting package for management.
- Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley and assist with testing.
- Assist with the internal and external audit process.
- All other duties as assigned.
REPORTING LINE
You will report directly to the Senior Accountant then to the Controller.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Must have excellent communication skills in both verbal and written, be polite, and present a neat appearance at all times.Should have the ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment and possess a strong energetic work ethic, keen analytical skills and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.Beneficial experience includes month end close, financial analysis, financial reporting, account reconciliation, inventory, assisting in the budgeting process, and proficiency in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.SAP experience is a plus.The ability to work with others as a team in an efficient manner.The ability to work in a fast -paced environment and stressful situationsYou will need to be available to work all shifts and holidays.You must be at least 21 years old.You also must be able to pass a background investigation and obtain and maintain a WV Racing License.EDUCATIONAL AND / OR EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or equivalent and a 4 year Accounting degree. Minimum of 2-3 years' experience in public and / or corporate accounting preferred.PHYSICAL DEMANDS
You will need to be able to sit / stand / walk for prolonged periods of time.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Will be exposed to working in a noisy and smoke / secondary smoke environment.
