Local company has an immediate need to fill Crew Leader positions. This is a permanent, weather dependent position. Protect project personnel. Provide safe, courteous directions to motorists and pedestrians. Communicate with personnel, motorists, crews, etc around the work zone. All employees must demonstrate the following : Ability to hear, receive, understand and communicate instructions clearly. Must be able communicate and understand English. Ability to maneuver quickly to avoid danger. Ability to control signaling devices (stop / slow paddle, flag, night wand, radios) in order to provide clear guidance to drivers approaching a Temporary Traffic Control Zone. Ability to communicate clearly with work zone personnel. Ability to adapt to frequently changing situations. Ability to lift, carry, set up, and tear down signs, stands, and cones. Lifting up to 50 lbs may be required. Constant ability to lift 15 lbs. Ability to apply safe traffic control practices as displayed in training. Ability to react to emergency and stressful situations. Ability to recognize dangerous situations and notify coworkers and the work crew. Education Requirements : All employees applying for a flagger position must have a high school diploma or GED. Must have a current and valid PA Driver's License. Physical Abilities Required : Must wear all PPE while on jobsite which includes vest, jeans, hi vis pants, hard hat, safety glasses, steel toed / composite toe boots, and sleeved shirt. Additional PPE maybe required in certain situations. Frequent repetitive lifting of 15 pounds. Frequent bending, twisting, and navigating uneven surfaces. Ability to stand on your feet for long periods of time (8-12 hours). Ability to see and hear approaching vehicles. Must be able to work in all weather conditions including extreme hot and cold, rain, snow, sleet, freezing rain. Must have the ability to walk up to 2 miles per day.
