Experience in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

Experience with EPIC electronic health record system

Comfortable taking MedSurg assignments

Ability to read and interpret cardiac strips

Description :

The position involves caring for patients in a mixed unit that includes Med / Surg to Intermediate Care levels.

Patient ratios depend on patient acuity, with a focus on providing care for a variety of diagnoses, including diabetic ketoacidosis, pre / post-surgical issues, respiratory ailments, and more.

The nurse will administer oral, IV, IM, and SQ medications, manage various types of intravenous access, and provide wound care.

Telemetry monitoring and interpretation of cardiac rhythms are a part of the responsibilities.

The nurse will work within a team that includes CNAs and charge nurses, and engage in multi-disciplinary collaboration.

Flexibility to float to various adult inpatient units may be required based on staffing needs.

Weekend rotation may include shifts for up to four weekends out of six.

The nurse will have opportunities for ongoing education and professional development.

No mandatory on-call shifts are expected.

Requests for time off are subject to approval and certain blackout periods apply.
