Job description30am – 5 : 00pm and Friday 7 : 30am – 12 : 30pm. High School diploma or equivalent. Minimum one to five years of experience in a retail pharmacy setting. Specialty pharmacy experience is a plus. Certified Pharmacy Technician certificate or State Pharmacy Board requirement (recommended). Under the supervision of a physician, provide dispensing of medications to patients. This includes technical aspects of medication dispensing, record keeping and inventory control as well as helping with financial assistance. Verifies patient demographics, insurance information and prescription information Completed prior authorizations Processes prescriptions and bills insurance for payment Review and sign paperwork Troubleshoots insurance rejections Submits prior authorizations Checks for drugs interactions Applies for financial assistance through foundations and co-pay assistance for high dollar medications Tracks and reports monthly inventory in computer Ensures that the most cost effective drugs are ordered from vendors Label prescriptions Ensures prescriptions and paperwork are verified by provider Obtains patient’s signature on all medications being dispensed File and store prescriptions File and maintain daily reports Documents all interactions with the patient in the EMR Powered by JazzHR

- This position helps support our 11 provider medical group by preparing and dispensing medications right from the office.
