Position Overview
Lead clinical operations as RN Nurse Manager for an amazing non-profit clinic that has been serving the community for over 40 years! Manage day-to-day nursing operations, supervise multidisciplinary staff, ensure Joint Commission compliance, and collaborate with Chief Nursing Officer and Medical Directors to deliver exceptional patient-centered care.
Requirements
Education & Licensure:
RN License (Massachusetts - active/current)
BSN strongly preferred (ASN considered)
CPR/BLS Certification required
Graduate of accredited nursing school
Experience:
3+ years supervisory or nurse manager experience required
Team lead or charge nurse background acceptable
FQHC or community health experience preferred
Joint Commission knowledge valued
Skills:
Electronic health records required (eClinicalWorks a plus)
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
Budget management and cost control
Strong leadership and staff development
Critical thinking and problem-solving
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership:
- Supervise RNs, LPNs, Medical Assistants, Unit Secretaries, Patient Registration
- Coordinate and evaluate department operations and activities
- Ensure highest quality patient care and clinical excellence
- Perform RN duties as department needs dictate
Compliance & Quality:
- Implement Joint Commission standards and monitor compliance
- Participate in Joint Commission meetings and on-site reviews
- Perform chart audits and nursing peer reviews
- Ensure documentation standards are met
Operations Management:
- Create and maintain staff schedules for optimal coverage
- Manage budget, supplies, overtime, and expense control
- Review timesheets, approve payroll and PTO requests
- Monitor immunizations, stock medications, expiration dates
- Oversee CPR program (quarterly sessions)
Staff Development:
- Conduct performance evaluations and career mentoring
- Facilitate new hire orientation and onboarding
- Assess clinical skills through observation and annual training
- Ensure completion of annual competencies
- Provide coaching, counseling, and disciplinary action when needed
Collaboration:
- Partner with Chief Nursing Officer and Medical Directors
- Facilitate two-way communication between staff and leadership
- Interpret health center policies and procedures
- Respond to facility acuity and emergency situations
Clinical Nursing Duties (as needed):
- Comprehensive patient assessment and care planning
- Administer immunizations and treatments
- Perform diagnostics: EKGs, Holter monitors, vision/hearing tests, CLIA testing
- Patient education and counseling
- Triage, referrals, and EMR documentation
