Retirement Plan Manager

ON-SITE - Charlotte, NC 28273

The Cato Corporation is seeking an experienced Benefits & Retirement Plans Specialist to join our HR Team!

The Cato Corporation, a leading specialty retailer of value-priced women's fashion apparel with corporate offices located in Charlotte, North Carolina, operates three concepts : Cato, It's Fashion and Versona. The Company has approximately 1,100 stores throughout the United States and a diverse workforce of approximately 7,000 associates. The Company's stock is traded on the NYSE under the symbol "CATO".

The Benefits and Retirement Plans Specialist reports to the SVP, Treasury, Tax & Credit, Secretary and supports the administration and day-to-day operations of the Company's Retirement plans : 401(k), Employee Stock Purchase Plan ("ESPP"), Employee Stock Ownership Plan ("ESOP"), and Deferred Compensation plans including the annual open enrollment process, compliance reporting and invoicing. This is an in-office position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • 401(k) Administration
  • Employee Stock Ownership Plan Administration
  • Employee Stock Purchase Plan Administration
  • Non-Qualified Deferred Compensation Plan Administration
  • Point of contact for Associates regarding all of the Company's retirement plans.
  • Fill in as needed in other areas of Benefits, including Leave of Absence Administration and Medical / Dental insurance.
  • Support the SVP, Treasury, Tax & Credit, Secretary with benefits and retirement plans funding and vendor payments.
  • Support special projects and cross functional initiatives as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS : Skills :

  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of retirement plans.
  • Must be able to manage own work and meet deadlines as well as perform multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent organizational / communication and customer service skills required.
  • Required :

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 2 to 3 years of direct experience in retirement or benefits administration.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and Access primarily).
  • Must be able to perform multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of associate information.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and customer service skills.
  • Preferred but Not Required :

  • Advanced working knowledge of HRIS systems (Lawson Payroll / HR).
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations affecting retirement plans.
  • Report writing skill.
