Senior Financial Analyst
As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will play a critical role in driving the financial performance of the Landing Gear MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul) channel. You will be responsible for the preparation of accurate financial reporting, ensuring a strong control environment, and implementation of process improvement initiatives. As the Sites Finance Focal you will develop leadership skills and sustain effective relationships with site functional leaders and military / commercial value streams. This is a great opportunity for someone who can work independently, displays critical thinking abilities and a desire / eagerness to learn in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. This is an individual contributor role and does not have responsibility for direct reports.
You will work onsite 5 days a week at our MRO facility in Miami, FL. This role reports to the Senior Manager, Aftermarket Finance located at our Oakville, Canada facility.
What you will do :
- Provide financial support to the MRO team with quantitative analysis, ad-hoc reports and preparation of inputs to financial models utilized in the preparation of profitable business cases and customer pricing proposals.
- Perform the following tasks to achieve the Landing Gear MRO team financial deliverables by the required deadlines :
Monthly closing process
Annual operating plansLong-term strategic plansMonthly forecastsSupport inventory management and rotable asset reportingWorking capital valuationSupport management of accounts receivable and cash flowAnalyze financial results and provide a detailed analysis of variance to plan, forecast, and prior period results for revenue, EBIT and working capital.Facilitate the SAP settlements of both revenue and cost of sales to ensure proper matching is achieved.Prepare journal entries and robust balance sheet account reconciliations.Collaborate with Operations Finance to understand the drivers of operational impacts to the financial results.Accountable for the accuracy of reserves and deferred revenue and ensure complex accounting positions are documented in an approved whitepaper.Prepare and present channel and value stream financial results and assist in identifying solutions to variances.Coordinate, review and report business financial risks and opportunities.Collaborate with Landing Gear MRO team in development of risk mitigation plans, forecasts and longer-term strategic plans.Ensure an effective internal financial controls environment is established and in compliance with US GAAP, SOX and all required legal or statutory requirements including ASC606 Revenue Recognition.Provide support to Internal and External Auditors as required.Conduct small-scale projects, complete ad hoc analysis & other duties as assignedTravel to Oakville, Canada site may be required 1-2 times per year.Qualifications you must have :
Typically requires a University Degree and minimum of 8 years prior relevant experience in accounting or finance or an Advanced Degree in a related field and a minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or financeExperience within an ERP environmentExperience in Microsoft Excel to include pivot table and V-lookupsQualifications we prefer :
