Job Overview
We’re looking for an entrepreneurial, highly organized Accounting Manager to take full ownership of our accounting function during a critical growth stage. This is a hands‐on and strategic role : you’ll run the daily accounting cycle while also building the processes, systems, and reporting infrastructure that enable scale. You’ll partner closely with the CFO and leadership to deliver accurate, timely financials, insightful reporting, and strong controls.
What You’ll Be Doing
Core Accounting & Close
- Manage end‐to‐end accounting operations, including AP / AR, payroll, expense reimbursements, and general ledger maintenance .
- Own month‐end and year‐end close , delivering accurate reconciliations and financial statements in accordance with GAAP .
- Ensure timely invoicing, collections, and vendor payments .
Financial Reporting & Visibility
Prepare monthly and quarterly reporting packages with analysis of results, trends, and variances; create monthly statements for clients .Provide clear financial insights to inform strategic decision‐making.Partner cross‐functionally (operations, sales, marketing) to align reporting with business goals .Cash Flow & Treasury
Monitor daily cash balances and manage working capital .Build short‐ and long‐term cash forecasts and ensure capital is allocated effectively to support growth initiatives.Systems, Controls & Automation
Design and implement scalable processes, internal controls, and documentation that reduce risk and increase accuracy.Evaluate, select, and implement accounting software / ERP tools (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite or similar) and streamline AR / AP workflows; automate repetitive tasks wherever possible.Optimize financial systems architecture and interoperability across tools we use— QuickBooks Online, Power Query, Monday.com, ShipHero, and Avalara —and deploy automation via platforms like Zapier / Make.com / API to reduce manual inputs.Manage indirect tax compliance workflows and maintain up‐to‐date tax nexus configurations via Avalara .Compliance, Audit & Documentation
Prepare documentation for audits, tax filings, and investor reporting ; maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.Team Readiness & Cross‐Functional Collaboration
Lay the groundwork for future team growth (role definitions, process documentation, reporting standards).Partner across departments to ensure finance processes align with operational realities and scale smoothly.What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field ( CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred ).3+ years progressive accounting experience, ideally in a high‐growth environment; proven ability to own the full accounting cycle .Strong systems skills : QuickBooks / QuickBooks Online, NetSuite or similar ERP; Excel & Power Query; Monday.com; Avalara .Bonus points for automation experience (Zapier, Make.com, or API) and comfort integrating tools (e.g., ShipHero).Excellent analytical, problem‐solving, and communication skills; a systems thinker who builds reliable, scalable workflows.Why You’ll Love This Job
