Position Summary
Under the supervision of the Charge Nurse or Nursing Administration, the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides high-quality patient care focused on safety, comfort, and positive clinical outcomes. The CNA assists with daily living activities, supports nursing staff with procedures, and maintains infection control standards in accordance with state and federal regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Provide compassionate, efficient patient care including bathing, dressing, feeding, toileting, ambulation, and repositioning.
Obtain and document vital signs, weights, intake, and output per policy.
Assist with patient transfers, mobility, and proper body alignment.
Support licensed nurses with treatments, procedures, and rehabilitation therapy as needed.
Maintain patient environment — make beds, collect linens, clean equipment, and transport patients or belongings.
Participate in care planning, implement individualized care plans, and promptly report changes in patient condition.
Practice infection control protocols and use appropriate PPE (N95 / KN95 when required).
Provide end-of-life and postmortem care as directed.
Use Point Click Care (PCC) for accurate documentation of patient care activities.
Assist in orientation of new CNAs and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
Specimen Collection (Where Permitted)
Collect and label nasal specimens for point-of-care testing.
Follow infection control and PPE standards during specimen handling.
Document results accurately and report issues promptly.
Requirements
Completion of a state-approved CNA program and active certification.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Basic computer literacy and willingness to learn facility systems.
Current TST (tuberculin skin test) and compliance with all state / federal regulations.
Must maintain continuing education (minimum 12 hours annually).
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
Must be fit-tested and able to wear N95 / KN95 respirator.
