Job Details

Start date : ASAP

Compact License is accepted!! However, Traveler must apply for AK license ASAP after signing.

Travelers may checking nurses off who need to be PICU trained.

Ratios : The pediatric floor ratios are 1 : 4. PICU 1 : 2. Ventilated patients are usually 1 : 1 due to the geography of the unit and the difficulty of doubling up ventilated patients.

Years of experience REQ : 2; will screen 1 year

First-timers accepted : YES

Weekend REQ : Every Other

Is on-call REQ? No

Will clinician float within scope to meet facility needs? Yes, NICU and Peds

Open to accommodating block schedule? Yes, unit does block

Locals accepted : No- What is the local radius rule? 100 miles

Pending License accepted : Compact accepted at time of submittal but must have AK license prior to starting for Acute specialties

RTO Restrictions : We are not accepting any changes to contracts once signed.

Guaranteed Hours : Yes, up to 36 hours.

2 years of experience required

Must be culturally sensitive to Native Population

State License Required : Alaska State License or Compact License with proof of application

Schedule Information

Guaranteed Hours : Yes, up to 36 hours. All OR nurses and OR Techs on 12-hour shifts are scheduled for an additional 4 hours to help cover breaks and lunches. 12 hour OR nurses and OR Techs will be guaranteed 40 hours per week.

Unit Specific Information

Travelers may checking nurses off who need to be PICU trained. They would have PICU assignments but with an orientee. This would not be their primary assignment but it may occur.
