Job Summary
This position is responsible for pre-visit planning, standard rooming responsibilities, assisting with procedures, discharge instructions and carries out both administrative and clinical tasks as directed by a medical provider. This position is instrumental in helping the patient feel at ease while collaborating with the provider throughout the patient's visit.
What you will do
- Room patients, perform and document vital signs and patient backgrounds.
- Coordinate provider schedules and appointments, enter orders and prepare patient charts.
- Instruct patients and families as directed within scope of licensure or certification.
- Prepare patients and assist medical providers with in-office procedures and prepare and administer medications / immunizations.
- Maintain exam rooms and equipment to be within infection control standards.
- Ensure appropriate levels of medical supplies for each patient room.
Education & Qualifications
Current clinical experience as a Medical Assistant, or Graduation from an Accredited School Of Practical Nursing required.Minimum of 160 hours of direct patient care experience as a LPN / MA / EMT obtained through professional MA / LPN / EMT work experience or completion of student clinical rotations.Required current clinical experience as a Medical Assistant; preferred current clinical experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).Current experience as an Emergency Medical Technician or Advanced Emergency Medical Technician preferred.Knowledge of principles and skills needed for practical nursing or medical assisting to provide patient care; knowledge of medical equipment and instruments; knowledge of safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment.Fosters work and patient relationships through excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work under stressful or emergency situations with high concentration and energy.Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.For full info, follow the application link.
