This position is 32 hours per week. Thursdays off. This position may be eligible for a sign on bonus.

Job Summary

This position is responsible for pre-visit planning, standard rooming responsibilities, assisting with procedures, discharge instructions and carries out both administrative and clinical tasks as directed by a medical provider. This position is instrumental in helping the patient feel at ease while collaborating with the provider throughout the patient's visit.

What you will do

  • Room patients, perform and document vital signs and patient backgrounds.
  • Coordinate provider schedules and appointments, enter orders and prepare patient charts.
  • Instruct patients and families as directed within scope of licensure or certification.
  • Prepare patients and assist medical providers with in-office procedures and prepare and administer medications / immunizations.
  • Maintain exam rooms and equipment to be within infection control standards.
  • Ensure appropriate levels of medical supplies for each patient room.

Education & Qualifications

  • Current clinical experience as a Medical Assistant, or Graduation from an Accredited School Of Practical Nursing required.
  • Minimum of 160 hours of direct patient care experience as a LPN / MA / EMT obtained through professional MA / LPN / EMT work experience or completion of student clinical rotations.
  • Required current clinical experience as a Medical Assistant; preferred current clinical experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
  • Current experience as an Emergency Medical Technician or Advanced Emergency Medical Technician preferred.
  • Knowledge of principles and skills needed for practical nursing or medical assisting to provide patient care; knowledge of medical equipment and instruments; knowledge of safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment.
  • Fosters work and patient relationships through excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work under stressful or emergency situations with high concentration and energy.
  • Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
