Job description

Administrative & Operations Support

This job is a Federal Work Study, non-benefited position in the Institutional Advancement Division that reports to the Administrative Assistant. Federal Work-Study (FWS) is a federally funded program by the Department of Education. This program provides part-time jobs for undergraduate students with significant financial need and is administered by the FWS Coordinator, and the Office of Financial Aid, in accordance with the law, federal regulations, and with instructions from the United States Department of Education.

Salary : $13.50 per hour. Hours : Days and hours are flexible up to 19 hours per week.

Minimum Qualifications

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Must be eligible for funds through the Federal Work Study Program for the current semester at Gwinnett Technical and be in good academic standing. Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours and be able to handle confidential information. Candidates must be available approximately 19 hours per week.

Preferred Qualifications

In addition to the minimum qualifications, you must be able to file accurately, able to use a computer and office machines, research information, draft basic letters and documents, and be comfortable with telephone contact.

Job Description Summary : Under close supervision, provides clerical support and office assistance to Office of Institutional Advancement and related personnel.

Job Responsibilities & Performance Standards :

Percentage of Time :

Assists in organizing and executing routine activities and special projects; other duties as assigned.

  • Schedule appointments as needed.
  • Research specific business entities for executive contacts, affiliations and products.
  • Collect research data for specific focus items.
  • Make copies as needed.
  • Create packets for GTF meetings.
  • Ensure supplies of items for information packets are available.
  • Create an introductory letter for review.
  • Ensure supplies of scholarship applications and lists are current.
  • Update scholarship notebooks as needed.
  • Assist with office filing and setting up files.
  • Send confirmation letters and speaker thank you letter.
  • Confirm alumni contact information.
  • Prepare handout materials for events.
  • Send speakers program day details and directions.
  • Contact committees for meetings.
