About the Role :

As a Mason in the construction industry based in Washington DC, you will play a critical role in building and repairing structures made of brick, stone, and concrete. Your work will directly contribute to the durability, safety, and aesthetic quality of residential, commercial, and public infrastructure projects. You will be responsible for interpreting blueprints and technical drawings to ensure precise construction and alignment of masonry elements. This role demands a strong attention to detail and craftsmanship to meet both structural standards and client expectations. Ultimately, your expertise will help create lasting structures that enhance the built environment in the Washington DC area.

Pay Range : Starting at $25 / HR DOE

Minimum Qualifications :

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of an accredited masonry apprenticeship or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Knowledge of masonry materials, tools, and techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy materials and working at heights.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Certification from a recognized masonry trade organization.
  • Experience working on commercial or large-scale construction projects.
  • Familiarity with local building codes and safety regulations in Washington DC.
  • Basic knowledge of construction site safety and OSHA standards.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively coordinate with team members and supervisors.
  • Responsibilities :

  • Prepare and lay bricks, concrete blocks, and other masonry materials according to project specifications and blueprints.
  • Mix mortar and other binding materials to the correct consistency for application.
  • Measure, cut, and shape bricks or stones to fit specific spaces and design requirements.
  • Inspect and repair existing masonry structures to maintain safety and appearance.
  • Collaborate with construction teams, including foremen and laborers, to ensure timely and efficient project completion.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following all safety protocols and regulations.
  • Use hand and power tools to complete masonry tasks accurately and efficiently.
