LHH is partnering with a growth oriented organization in the Property & Casualty insurance space to recruit a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to play a critical role in shaping the company's financial strategy and longterm success. This executive will serve as a trusted member of the senior leadership team, influencing decisionmaking across the business while ensuring financial integrity, discipline, and transparency.
The CFO will act as a strategic thought partner to the President while remaining closely connected with financial operations. This role is ideal for a leader who thrives in environments that value both high standards and strong relationships someone who can drive accountability, elevate reporting and controls, and develop a capable finance team, all while preserving a collaborative, values driven culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a strategic finance and operations leader and active member of the senior leadership team
- Partner closely with the President to accelerate execution, optimize financial outcomes, and manage costs
- Provide executive leadership with clear analysis and guidance on the financial implications of business decisions
- Lead the development and execution of short and longterm financial strategy and planning initiatives
- Direct monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance
- Oversee the general ledger, expense management, and close processes with strong discipline and structure
- Ensure effective internal controls and compliance with GAAP, statutory reporting, and regulatory requirements
- Lead quarterly board reporting and executivelevel financial communications
- Drive improvements in financial reporting, forecasting, controls, and overall process efficiency, including automation opportunities
- Identify and resolve accounting and reporting issues proactively to minimize financial risk
- Develop and lead a highperforming finance team, including coaching, accountability, and career development conversations
- Act as a trusted advisor and thought partner to senior leadership on financial and operational matters
Required Skills & Experience - 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience
- Property & Casualty insurance carrier experience required
- Brokerage or agency experience acceptable when paired with carrier background
- Demonstrated experience with statutory and GAAP insurance reporting
- Strong command of accounting fundamentals, including debits/credits, close cycles, and reporting requirements
- Experience managing structured close timelines and complex deadlines
- Proven ability to balance strategic leadership with handson execution
- Experience leading boardlevel financial reporting and presentations
- Track record of driving accountability, discipline, and operational rigor in evolving environments
- Strong working knowledge of financial systems and tools; Oracle, PeopleSoft, and advanced Excel preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
MBA and/or CPA strongly preferred
Pay Details: $250,000.00 to $300,000.00 per year
