This position is part of Novanta’s ATI Industrial Automation business unit. ATI is the world’s leading developer of robotic end of arm technologies. Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Facilities Manager to oversee the operation and maintenance of our 165,000-square-foot building located in Raleigh, NC area. The building consists of half light-duty manufacturing space and half office space. Primary Responsibilities
- Proactively manage facilities planning and maintenance activities in collaboration with various stakeholders including Corporate Real Estate, EHS, Manufacturing Operations, and others.
- Implement and oversee sustainability and green initiatives to improve facility efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
- Maintain building infrastructure including plumbing, electrical wiring, and other related maintenance activities. Notify management concerning the need for major repairs or additions.
- Work with EHS and Operations leaders to maintain all ISO certifications.
- Develop and implement facility policies relevant to the department.
- Oversee the coordination of building space allocation and layout, ensuring efficient use of space.
- Plan, budget, and schedule facility maintenance and modifications, including obtaining competitive quotes from vendors.
- Initiate and manage preventive maintenance programs for facility equipment, including HVAC, office equipment, and more.
- Oversee cleaning, security, and maintenance of the facility, including landscaping, snow removal, pest control, and other services.
- Develop and administer the annual facilities budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and financial responsibility.
- Perform the role of Environmental Management System (EMS) Facility Supervisor.
- Negotiate contracts with and supervise all outside contractors, ensuring compliance with EHS policies and procedures.
- Participate in the onsite safety program and select, develop, and evaluate personnel to ensure efficient operation of the department.
- Manage crisis situations and ensure the facility is prepared for emergencies.
- This role will remotely assist in the support of our California and Michigan facilities.
Required Experience, Education, Skills, Training and Competencies
Bachelor's degree (BS) or equivalent; or seven-plus years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Excellent problem-solving, customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills.Demonstrated ability to work well in group problem-solving situations and balance team and individual responsibilities.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and facility management software.Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.Able to read and understand complex electrical, mechanical, and automation systems.Strong project management skills and experience with building automation and energy management systems.Knowledge and experience in crisis management and emergency preparedness.Strong financial analysis and budgeting skills, with a focus on cost management.Travel Requirements
